Peter Pan

Is it just me, or is the whole book/movie incredibly sexist?

Women can only be mothers (or wives), Tinkerbell is insanely jealous and only capable of one emotion at a time, and Wendy, who could so easily be the heroine in the film, has take orders from Peter and be a "mother" far before her time.

If this isn't an ironic take on the whole Victorian tradition of the subjugation of women, then the theme of subjugation is played straight, and J. M. Barrie endorses the enslavement of the female half of the population.
